With Watchmen, director Zack Snyder took great care to remain faithful to the film’s source material. This makes for a rather stylized mystery. However, it never manages to overcome the fact this story was meant to be conveyed through a different medium.

For better or worse, 300 has become influential in a short amount of time. The action sequences shown in a high frame rate, then a low frame rate, and back to high frame rate has been widely imitated. The addition of ultra-violence and vibrant sepia tones add to a well stylized film.
